The volume of the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) market is ca. 65 Bio € worldwide. The heating-market is ca. 1/3 of this, thereof ca. 12 Bio € in Europe. Electrically operated heat-pumps in 2008 show a market volume of ca. 1 Bio € in Europe and ca. 1 Bio € in the rest of the world.

The market volume for heat-pumps is increasing fast worldwide with a high share in the market for newly built homes. The biggest potential is in the area of refurbishing of old buildings.

In Europe in 2007 ca. 250.000 heat-pumps for heating purposes have been sold, thereof ca. 115.000 heat-pumps with heat-source ground-heat or ground water, where the ct-turbo heat-pump might be used right away. The market potential for the ct-turbo heat-pump however is considerably higher due to its economical and ecological advantages. For 2015 the market-volume is forecasted to double.
